GOP Battle of Generations - Old Coots vs The Kid

Oh boy ................this one was just too good to leave sitting out there without any "tongue in cheek" commentary
– here we have the “ALEC old guard [coots, old farts] ” (Gingrich) and the “Kid” (Ryan)
- clashing over where the world should be

– but to me there is more - much, much more happening in this situation.

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) slammed GOP presidential front-runner Newt Gingrich's comment that Republicans should not attempt to "impose" unpopular fiscal programs as shortsighted and lacking leadership in an interview Wednesday.

“This is not the 1990s,” Ryan said to the National Review. “The ‘Mediscare’ is not working and we should not back down from this fight. I, for one, believe the country is ready, they’re hungry for it. They are ready to hear real solutions. We shouldn’t wait around for the status quo to become popular.
To you old coots and the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) - it is the 1990's.  Your legislation is the same as it was in the 1990's.  The corporate sponsors are the same as they were in the 1990's.  The stupid philosophies that they have are the same as they were in the 1990's.    Almost all the people in ALEC are stunted - chronologically retarded - stuck in a world of the 1990's -   This is my  moment, I AM THE KID!  My moment to break loose from the pack - this is my  time - I must move to the front of the pack and do what I must do!
Ryan and Gingrich had sparred earlier in the campaign, when the former Speaker denounced Paul's budget plan as "right-wing social engineering." Gingrich later backed off that position and apologized to Ryan.
Earlier in the Campaign = BEFORE The drop of the list of ALEC politicians and ALEC corporate sponsors on the ALEC Exposed Webpage.
Earlier in the Campaign = BEFORE the drop of 800 pieces of ALEC model legislation on the ALEC Exposed Webpage..
The matter seemed settled until an interview Gingrich did on Friday on the "Coffee & Markets" podcast. In the interview, Gingrich again knocked the Ryan plan as potential political "suicide."
Kid – you gotta  shut up!  The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) is in the spotlight right now – the legislation that privatizes Medicare is on the ALEC Exposed webpage.  Kid – Shut up!  This is political suicide for over 100 ALEC Alumni - you need to shut up.  Your day will come – just play the obedient son for now until ALEC is out of the spotlight.
"Reagan ran to be a popular president, not to maximize suicide," Gingrich said. "And I think conservatives have got to understand, you govern over the long run by having the American people think you’re doing a good job and think you’re doing what they want. Now the question is, how do you have creative leadership that achieves the right values in a popular way?"
OMG – Did he really say that out loud – for everyone to hear?  People are so damn dumb that all you have to do is make them think you are working for them?
Gingrich went on to say that while he supported Ryan's plan, he didn't believe it to currently be politically viable. The budget chairman's plan, dubbed "premium support," would use Medicare dollars to partially subsidize seniors' purchase of private insurance.
Kid - wait - back off!  This is not politically viable because the ALEC privatization of Medicare model legislation is on the WEB!   Hello!  Wake UP!   Any ALEC Alum that votes for for plan will be screwed and voted out of office and ALEC will lose their damn members and when that happens the corporations will go away and ALEC will die -   KID- SHUT UP!  You're further exposing ALEC and all our Corporate sponsors that keep the organzation afloat and - the very corporations that line our damn pockets - Kid, SHUT UP!
"Where I think Ryan’s onto something I actually support, which is that you ought to have a premium support option, I wouldn’t do it in 10 years, I would do it next year, but I would do it as a voluntary program," Gingrich said. "And then I would go to the insurance industry and say to them, ‘Is there a way you could make a premium support option really desirable?’
Absolutely you would – this is the good old PRIVATE-PUBLIC PARTNERSHIP that ALEC indoctrinated, brainwashed and educated you about.
But Ryan said that true leaders shouldn't treat voters, "who don’t want to be pandered to like children,” as incapable of understanding hard choices.
“Leaders don’t follow the polls, leaders change the polls,” Ryan said. “We have moved so far in advancing entitlement reform, not just in Congress but in this race, with most of the candidates embracing comprehensive entitlement reform. That has been a very good thing. At this point, we should be moving forward, not moving backwards.”
I AM THE KID – I KNOW WHAT IS BEST!   YOU WILL NOT QUESTION ME – I have babysat Boehner for three years now – My time has come - I am the BOSS! Back off you old coot – your days are over and the world belongs TO ME!  I AM THE KID – I KNOW WHAT IS BEST and You Old Farts have no idea what I can do and I will show you how it’s done!  I am the new God!
